FORTE TRVL LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY

Customer-Friendly Warranty Summary

At FORTE TRVL, we build luggage to last — and we stand behind it.

We guarantee that the aluminium shell and core functional components of your FORTE TRVL suitcase are covered for the reasonable lifetime of the product, defined as up to 10 years under normal travel use. Where possible, we prioritise repair over replacement to extend the life of your suitcase and reduce unnecessary waste.

This warranty covers functional faults that impact the usability of your luggage. It does not cover cosmetic wear, airline damage, misuse, or damage outside the scope of normal travel use.

To make a warranty claim, you must provide proof of purchase from FORTE TRVL and complete a basic customer verification process.

If something goes wrong, our team will always aim to assist fairly and reasonably, even if out of scope. The final resolution is determined at our sole discretion based on the nature and cause of the issue.

Full Limited Lifetime Warranty Policy

1. Warranty Coverage & Definition of Lifetime

FORTE TRVL warrants that the aluminium shell and functional components of its luggage will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the reasonable expected lifespan of the product under normal travel use.

The lifetime of the luggage refers to the reasonable expected lifespan of the product under normal travel use, taking into account materials, construction, and intended purpose, and is defined as up to 10 years.

This Limited Lifetime Warranty applies only to luggage purchased directly from FORTE TRVL and used for its intended purpose as a travel suitcase.

2. What This Warranty Covers

This warranty covers functional defects that prevent normal use of the luggage, including:

  • Cracks or fractures in the aluminium shell
  • Failure of wheels, handles, telescopic handles, or locks
  • Manufacturing defects affecting usability

Where possible, repair is prioritised over replacement. In many cases, replacement components may be issued for self-repair, with clear guidance and ongoing support provided by the FORTE TRVL team.

In rare cases, the suitcase may be replaced in full. This decision is made solely at the discretion of FORTE TRVL, based on the nature, cause, and extent of the defect or damage.

3. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Airline damage (including handling, transit, or baggage claim damage)
  • Misuse, abuse, negligence, or use outside standard travel scenarios
  • Commercial use, including but not limited to rental, hire, or use as part of a paid service
  • Damage outside the scope of regular travel use
  • Loss of functionality caused by forgotten or incorrectly set lock combinations
  • Cosmetic wear and tear, including:
    • Scratches, dents, or scuffs
    • Colour changes or patina
    • Normal wear from travel
    • Non-functional appearance changes

Aluminium luggage naturally develops character over time — this is expected and does not affect performance.

Please note: Surface marks, metal transfer deposits, and directional abrasion are considered cosmetic wear and are not indicative of a manufacturing defect. These markings are a normal and expected consequence of travel, particularly air travel, and do not constitute grounds for a warranty claim.

4. Inspection & Repair Process

IMPORTANT — Please read before returning your item.

When you return a unit to FORTE TRVL for inspection, you are consenting to the following process:

  1. Our technical team will carry out a full physical assessment of the item.
  2. If the item is deemed repairable, we will carry out a repair to return it to full working order. By sending your item to us for inspection, you are providing consent for us to carry out a repair if we determine the item is repairable. If you do not wish for a repair to be carried out, you must notify us in writing via info@fortetrvl.com before the item is received at our facility.
  3. Our repair process may involve the replacement of components with functionally equivalent parts. Replacement parts may differ slightly in appearance from the original factory components. This is inherent to post-production repair and does not affect structural integrity or usability.
  4. Where the damage is determined to be the result of airline mishandling, we may carry out a complimentary repair as a gesture of goodwill to keep your case functional. This does not constitute an admission of liability on our part and does not affect your right to pursue a claim directly with the airline.

5. Airline Damage

Damage caused by airlines during transit is not covered under this warranty and is explicitly excluded.

Under the Montreal Convention 1999 (enforceable in the United Kingdom), airlines are legally liable for damage caused to checked baggage during transit. Claims must be reported directly to the airline within their required timeframe, which is typically seven days from receipt of damaged baggage.

Where a unit has been assessed by FORTE TRVL and damage has been attributed to airline mishandling, we will provide a written assessment report to support your claim with the airline. This report does not constitute acceptance of liability by FORTE TRVL.

If you experience difficulty resolving an airline claim, we are happy to provide guidance and supporting documentation — however, responsibility for the damage remains with the airline.

6. Locks & Security

Lock combinations are set by the customer and remain the customer's responsibility. FORTE TRVL cannot store, retrieve, or reset individual lock codes once set.

If a lock is faulty due to a manufacturing defect, a replacement lock may be issued for self-repair, supported by clear instructions and guidance from FORTE TRVL.

If a lock is damaged due to airline handling, a small charge may apply for the replacement part and postage, depending on the circumstances.

Locked luggage can be returned to FORTE TRVL for unlocking; shipping and handling costs will be the responsibility of the customer.

7. Warranty Claims & Your Responsibilities

To submit a warranty claim, you must:

Provide order confirmation or proof of purchase from FORTE TRVL

Complete customer verification

Provide clear evidence of the claimed defect

All warranty claims must be submitted via info@fortetrvl.com.

Please note: Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, where a fault is reported within the first 30 days of delivery, you may be entitled to a full refund. Between 30 days and 6 months from delivery, FORTE TRVL is entitled to carry out one repair or replacement attempt before a refund becomes applicable. After 6 months from delivery, the burden of proof shifts to the customer to demonstrate that the fault existed at the point of sale. FORTE TRVL reserves the right to carry out an independent technical assessment to determine the cause and nature of any reported fault.

8. Repairs, Returns & Charges

Warranty repairs or replacement parts for confirmed faults are provided free of charge

All non-fault returns are subject to a £15 handling fee plus postage

Return shipping for warranty claims within the UK is covered by FORTE TRVL

International shipping costs may apply and will be confirmed before processing

9. Duties, Taxes & International Orders

Any applicable customs duties or import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable. Where duties or taxes are included in the purchase price, this will be clearly stated at checkout.

10. Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser or original gift recipient.

11. Final Notes

FORTE TRVL reserves the right to determine the appropriate resolution — repair, component replacement, or full replacement — based on our assessment of the issue. This decision is final and made at the sole discretion of FORTE TRVL.

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
